How We Work

Luxurious Renovations is owner-led. Zach Cramer runs every project himself and is on the job managing it, from the first call to the final walkthrough, with over 30 years of family building experience behind the company. Here is how a renovation runs.

1. Zach calls you back. Send the form or call 843-709-6140, and Zach calls you back to set up a visit to your house.
2. The visit to your house. The first meeting starts with how you want to use the space. Then we look at the style of the house, if it has one, and the materials and choices that suit it.
3. A budget and a design, with the scope. You get a budget and a design that set out the scope of the work, so expectations line up before anything is final.
4. Working through the options. We go through the options with you, from layout to materials, until the design suits the house and how you want to live in it.
5. The final written proposal. You get a final written proposal. If something changes once work starts, the change gets its own written proposal, so you always know what it costs.

We pull the permits and schedule the inspections. On smaller jobs we do every trade in-house, from carpentry and masonry to electrical, plumbing and roofing; on larger or more specialized jobs we bring in expert subcontractors. Either way, Zach is on the job managing it, and he applies our tadelakt himself.

On a historic house, we work with an architect on the drawings, file the Board of Architectural Review applications and attend the hearings when they are needed. See historic home renovation.

Whether you can stay in the house depends on the job. Most of the time you can. On a full-house job it is sometimes better, and cheaper, to live somewhere else than to phase the work around you, and we talk that through before work starts.

We walk through the finished work with you. Our work carries a 1-year workmanship warranty: if something comes up, let us know and Zach will come out to look at it, and if it falls under the warranty we fix it at no cost.
